Tour de Fleece 2018 is around the corner and I have decided to restart my podcast so that I can film my daily progress.  I stopped filming my podcast when my tripod, camera and computer all died within a few weeks of one another. Soon after I started working a night and weekend full time schedule and had to move to an apartment. I no longer had a yard to film in and the best sunlight was right in the middle of my sleep schedule or commute.

I have since moved back to the Pacific Northwest and for an early birthday present my mother recently bought me what amounts to a podcast in a box.  It is a very nice hard case set that includes a tabletop grippy tripod, a very nice microphone that plugs into a phone and a small LED light. The kit also includes a bluetooth remote and three phone camera lens for taking still photos. I really like the macro lens.

So hopefully tomorrow I will film episode one of A Cat and Her Yarn Respun and can get it uploaded to Youtube that night or the next day.  Since Blip no longer exists and the computer with the original videos died, I can not upload the original episodes. I do hope to get the hard drive recovered but that is a project for another day.

So here is hoping that everything goes well for the next phase of my podcast.

In the meantime I have been spinning some orange BFL

The colorway on the right is the original colorway I purchased for a SAL back in 2008. After my first skein I realized I would not have enough so I quickly found the colorway on the left.

Once spun up the two colorways look like this

I plan on making a two ply of the cake on the right and then cable plying the two colorways together.  The original idea was for arm warmers but now I’m wondering if a shawl might be better. I plan on finishing this fiber during the first part of Tour de Fleece.  Then I will finish up the drop spindle rainbow sampler I was spinning during last years Tour de Fleece

I then plan on moving onto another UFO spinning project that I will decide upon later.

So happy Tour de Fleece all of you in the spinning world and hope to see you on YouTube soon.
